Wisconsin claws its way into NCAA tourney behind Traevon Jackson, a young sub with a pedigree

Wisconsin is back in the NCAA tournament, a five seed in the West Regional that will play 12th-seeded Mississippi on Friday.

The Badgers are led by sophomore point guard Traevon Jackson, the son of two-time Ohio State All-American Jim Jackson. He was asked to step in when Josh Gasser tore his ACL prior to the season — and he faltered early on.

Jackson turned things around, including wins against Illinois and at Indiana. He has gone from averaging 5.4 minutes and 1.1 points last season to 27.6 minutes and 6.9 points in 34 games so far this year.
