Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will miss his team's Champions League opener at Montpellier on Tuesday because of an ankle injury.

Szczesny sustained the problem in Arsenal's 6-1 win over Southampton on Saturday, and it is expected that he will be replaced between the posts by Vito Mannone.

The 22-year-old Szczesny started all 38 of Arsenal's league games last season, but has already missed two matches in the Premiership for the Gunners this term after failing a fitness test against Stoke City and sitting out his team's win over Liverpool.
