DALLAS (Reuters) - Pitcher Scott Feldman signed a two-year contract extension worth $13.3 million with the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Feldman, 17-8 last season, will be the team's opening day starter when they begin the season against Toronto on Monday.

The deal reworks the final year of Feldman's current contract and includes a Rangers option for 2013 for $9.25 million, according to a report on Major League Baseball's website (mlb.com).
