The Kansas City Royals activated pitcher Jonathan Sanchez from the 15-day disabled list and named him the starter for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Sanchez was on a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Omaha and went 1-1 in three starts with a 6.75 earned run average.

The 29-year-old southpaw was 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA over six starts for the Royals before left biceps tendinitis forced him to the DL in early May.

To make room for Sanchez on the roster, Kansas City optioned pitcher Louis Coleman to Omaha. Over 16 games with the Royals, Coleman sported a 3.15 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 20 innings.
