Ron Hornaday Jr. to drive for Turner Scott Motorsports in Truck Series opener at Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Four-time NASCAR Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday Jr. had landed a ride for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
It could become a full-time gig.
The 55-year-old Hornaday will drive the No. 30 Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports in the Feb. 21 race. It will be his second straight start for TSM. He finished fifth in last year's season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Hornaday has 51 career victories in the Trucks Series, but none at Daytona.
Team co-owner Steve Turner says he is working to get Hornaday a full-time deal for the 2014 season.
TSM's Trucks Series lineup already includes Ryan Truex and Ben Kennedy. The organization also is fielding three cars in the Nationwide Series race at Daytona, with Kyle Larson, Dylan Kwasniewski and Danica Patrick behind the wheel.
