Reds' Phillips sits with elbow injury

In 109 games during the 2011 season, Philips is hitting .287 with 11 home runs, 63 RBI and 63 runs scored

In other Reds news, rookie shortstop Zack Cozart will have surgery on his left elbow, likely ending his season. Cozart injured the elbow while attempting to make a tag at second base on July 23. He went on the disabled list the following day.

Cozart played in 11 games this season, posting a .324 average with two home runs and three RBI. The Tennessee native was selected by the Reds in the second round of the 2007 draft.
