Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Wil Myers has been named the American League's Rookie of the Month for September.

Myers, 22, has batted .317 with four homers, 13 doubles and 14 RBI in 27 games this month. He will have a chance to add to those numbers Monday, when the Rays and Texas Rangers play a tiebreaker to determine the final wild card spot.

Other players considered for the award included Seattle pitcher James Paxton, Oakland hurler Dan Straily and Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun.
