Alameda, CA – The Oakland Raiders placed defensive end Matt Shaughnessy on injured reserve Wednesday.
The team made the move to make room on the 53-man roster for recently-acquired quarterback Carson Palmer.
Shaughnessy hurt his shoulder in Week 3 against the New York Jets and has not played since. The 25-year-old compiled seven sacks last season.
The Raiders also signed offensive lineman Zach Hurd to the practice squad.
