Phoenix, AZ – In a move that's hardly surprising, the day disabled list Tuesday as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery.
Anderson underwent the successful ulnar collateral ligament replacement procedure on his ailing left elbow during the All-Star break.
The 23-year-old had not pitched since June 5 and was sidelined with left elbow soreness. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list two days later.
In 13 starts prior to the injury, Anderson was 3-6 with a 4.00 earned-run average.
In addition, the A's claimed infielder Brandon Hicks off waivers from Atlanta. He hit just .048 in 21 at-bats over three separate stints last year for the Braves.
