CORVALLIS, Ore. – Roberto Nelson scored 26 points and Devon Collier added 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oregon State to a 77-63 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday night.
Davon Haynes had 18 points for the Golden Lions (2-7). Tevin Hammond had 10 assists and DeAndre McIntyre scored 12 points.
Oregon State (4-2) scored the first seven points and streaked to a 12-2 lead.
The Golden Lions took their first lead on a layup by Sean Tingle that made it 26-25 with 5:46 remaining in the half.
The Beavers went into the break with a 36-32 lead thanks to a buzzer beating put-back by Langston Morris-Walker.
Oregon State built a cushion early in the second half thanks in part to Golden Lions turnovers. A steal and breakaway dunk by Collier put the Beavers ahead 47-38 with 16:24 left.
The Beavers led by as many as 20 in the second half.
