LONDON -- The NBA is taking "appropriate" security measures for its European preseason tour amid heightened terror concerns, although the team schedules and activities remain unchanged.

Officials for the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves in London said they will continue with practices and youth clinics as planned ahead of Monday's game at the O2 Arena.

NBA senior vice president for marketing and communications Mike Bass said the league is "taking all appropriate security measures."

Lakers spokesman John Black said authorities are "keeping us informed of the situation."

The State Department on Sunday issued a a travel alert for Europe that advises U.S. citizens living or traveling there to take more precautions about their personal security.
