After inking a new deal to remain in the UFC, highly touted prospect Misha Cirkunov will make his return to action against fellow top 15 ranked fighter Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night in Sweden on May 28.

UFC officials announced the pairing on Monday.

Cirkunov has long been viewed as one of the fastest rising stars on the UFC roster while putting together a perfect 4-0 record while finishing all four of his past opponents.

Following his last win over Nikita Krylov last December, Cirkunov got locked into a tense negotiation with the UFC over a new deal and it appeared for a moment that he might hit the free agency market instead of returning to the Octagon.

Eventually, Cirkunov and the UFC came to an agreement and now he'll return to action while facing another top prospect in the light heavyweight division.

Oezdemir made quite a splash in his UFC debut in February when he defeated former title contender Ovince Saint Preux by split decision.

Now the 13-1 fighter out of Switzerland will look to make another big impact when he faces Cirkunov in Sweden this May.

Cirkunov vs. Oezdemir is the latest addition to the growing UFC Fight Night card in Sweden, which is headlined by local favorite Alexander Gustafsson face Glover Teixeira in the main event.
