Brandon Moore had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Mercer to a 65-53 victory over South Carolina-Upstate on Saturday.

Brian Mills added 15 points for the Bears (8-14, 5-6 Atlantic Sun Conference), who won for the fourth time in five games.

Mercer outscored the Spartans (2-19, 1-10), who have lost 13 consecutive games, 40-25 in the second half to erase a three-point halftime deficit. The Bears held the Spartans to just six second-half field goals in 28 attempts (21.4 percent) and took their first lead at 31-30 on Moore's dunk with 18:11 to play.

The Bears led 41-40 before they went on a 10-0 run for a 51-40 advantage with 7:22 to play.

Bud Thomas scored 13 points and Langston Hall added 10 for Mercer.

Torrey Craig had 17 points and nine rebounds and Josh Chavis had 13 for the Spartans, who led by 13 points with 11:24 left in the first half.
