A report on the team's official website (http://www.bengals.com) said that Lewis had agreed to a contract Tuesday after meeting with the club's ownership.

Lewis's current deal ran out at the end of this season and having managed just two winning records in eight years his future was uncertain.

Despite off-season moves to strengthen the roster, the team finished with a 4-12 record, the worst in Lewis's tenure with the Bengals.

He has a 60-67-1 regular season record and an 0-2 mark in playoff games.
