Cam Long scored 20 points and Luke Hancock added 17 to lead George Mason to an 85-69 win over William & Mary on Saturday.

Ryan Pearson finished with 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Patriots (17-5, 9-2 Colonial Athletic Association). Andre Cornelius had 13 points and Isaiah Tate added 10.

The game was close through much of the first half. George Mason held a 54-48 lead with 13:25 left in the game before the Patriots went on a 9-1 run, led by Long's four points during the spurt.

The Tribe (5-17, 2-9), who have lost four straight, never recovered after the run as George Mason pushed its advantage to 19 points — its largest of the game — on a slam dunk by Hancock with 7:21 left.

Quinn McDowell led William & Mary with 16 points and eight rebounds. Marcus had 12 points and eight rebounds, Brandon Britt had 14 points and Matt Rum chipped in with 10.
