Liverpool announces Origi capture

Liverpool, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Liverpool announced Tuesday that the club has signed striker Divock Origi from Lille.

Origi will immediately be loaned back to the French club for the duration of the 2014-15 season.

The 19-year-old began his professional career at Belgian club Genk before securing a move to Lille in 2010.

A Belgium international, Origi was one of the breakout stars of the World Cup, stealing headlines by netting a late winner against Russia in the group stage.
