Devon Lamb's double-double led Lamar to a 99-75 victory over Central Arkansas in a Southland Conference opener Saturday.

Lamb scored 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (7-7).

Mike James, coming off a school-record 52-point performance Tuesday night against Division III Louisiana College, scored 22 points, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Charlie Harper scored 12, Anthony Miles 11 and Coy Custer added 10. Miles also had eight assists.

Imad Qahwash paced the Bears (4-10) with 19 points. Dewan Clayborn and Mike Pouncy scored 13 apiece, and Mark Rutledge had 11.

Lamar, which is 7-0 against Central Arkansas, held a 51-25 rebounding advantage.

With Lamar trailing 10-9, James hit back-to-back 3-pointers and then a jumper to give Lamar a 17-9 edge. Central Arkansas never led after that.
