(SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Knicks will try to put a halt to a four- game losing streak Friday night when they welcome the Golden State Warriors to Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks, who've dropped two straight at home and are only 12-19 in Madison Square Garden, fell in Miami to the two-time defending champion Heat, 108-82 on Thursday.
The Heat's Hall of Fame duo of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for 54 points to give the Knicks their seventh loss in the last eight games.
Carmelo Anthony poured in 29 points and Tyson Chandler put up a heroic 19- point, 16-rebound performance. J.R. Smith finished with 11 and no other Knicks player had more than six points.
New York trailed by 16 in the second quarter but chipped away at the deficit and pulled within 55-50 at the break.
Hopes of a comeback quickly dwindled in the third, however, as they were outscored by a 32-14 margin as a result of Miami hitting 12-of-17 (70.6 percent) of their shots.
"We just didn't respond," New York head coach Mike Woodson admitted. "It was like we went blank and stopped playing."
Raymond Felton, just two days after being arrested on gun charges, started and played almost 31 minutes, but shot 1-for-7 en route to just two points.
The Knicks hit the road on Sunday to begin a three-game trip with stops in Chicago, Detroit and Minnesota. New York has lost three straight and eight of its last nine as the visitor.
The Warriors will be visitors for at least the next week. Golden State embarked on a six-game eastern swing, beating the Detroit Pistons on Monday, then losing in Chicago on Wednesday.
The Warriors make stops in Toronto, Indiana and Boston before returning home.
On Wednesday, the Bulls romped over the Warriors, 103-83.
Stephen Curry scored 34 points on 13-of-19 shooting in a 102-87 drubbing of the Bulls on Feb. 6, but managed just five points on 2-of-10 shooting from the floor in Wednesday's setback, which snapped Golden State's four-game win streak.
Jordan Crawford contributed 16 points, while Harrison Barnes and David Lee, who had missed the Warriors' last two games with a stomach flu, added 11 points apiece in the loss.
"My timing was a little off," Lee admitted. "I was definitely more winded and 20 minutes felt like 55 minutes. That is usually going to happen for the first game back."
The Warriors have taken six of the last eight meetings between the teams and two of the last three at Madison Square Garden.
