Miami, FL – LeBron James scored 25 points, pulled down 11 78, on Sunday.
Dwyane Wade netted a game-high 27 points and blocked three shots while Chris Bosh dropped eights points and grabbed nine boards for the Heat, who have won a season-high six in a row.
Dwight Howard had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Magic, who snapped a four-game winning streak. J.J. Redick scored a team-high 17 points and Glen Davis added 12 off the bench in defeat.
Miami shot just 47.5 percent from the field, but held Orlando to a 36.5 percent mark and forced 15 turnovers.
"Our activity level was very good and throughout the game it was very consistent," said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra. "Offensively, we were able to play poised, even when they were hitting their threes we were able to execute on offense and get the type of shots we wanted."
After a contentious first quarter, the Heat broke it open in the second. A three-pointer from the Magic's Ryan Anderson put the visitors on top, 27-24, with just under nine minutes to play. The Heat responded in force, though, rolling off a 12-0 run.
Miami wound up ending the half on a 19-4 spurt to lead by 12, 43-31, at halftime.
Orlando cut its deficit to single digits with 1:44 to play in the third. Down 63-50, the Magic took advantage of two turnovers by Mario Chalmers. Howard turned his travel into a hook shot that fell through the cylinder and Davis ran the floor for a layup after the Heat guard lost the ball.
The home team responded once more, however, ending the period with seven unanswered points for a 70-54 lead.
"They just played harder than us. They did do well tonight," said Howard. "They clogged the paint. They forced me to pass the ball out. It was a pretty good defensive effort. Every time I caught the ball in the paint everyone was there."
Miami's advantage ballooned to 20 in the fourth.
The Heat led by 11 with 3:49 to go in the first, but Redick and Quentin Richardson drained treys and Howard dropped in a hook shot to cut Miami's advantage to three, 22-19, as the buzzer sounded on the opening stanza.
