Bloomington, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - The men's basketball game between Indiana and Iowa that was postponed on Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27.
A piece of metal fell from the ceiling at Assembly Hall and landed in the lower bowl of seats, forcing officials to postpone the contest.
"Both our university and outside consulting engineers have advised us -- and we in turn have advised the Big Ten -- that the remediation of the problems at Assembly Hall will be 100 percent complete by early next week and that Assembly Hall will be safe and ready to host Thursday's men's basketball game without any limitations or restrictions," said Indiana athletic director Fred Glass in a statement on Friday.
The contest is set to start at 9 p.m. ET.
Indiana will play three games next week. The Hoosiers will visit Wisconsin on Tuesday, then will host Iowa on Thursday and will welcome Ohio State on Sunday.
Iowa also has three games on next week's schedule. The Hawkeyes will play at Minnesota on Tuesday before the trip to Bloomington, then will host Purdue on Saturday.
