Palermo, Italy – Palermo striker Abel Hernandez has signed a new four-year contract that ties him to the club until 2016.
The Uruguay international joined Palermo in 2009 from Penarol and has scored 15 goals in 64 appearances since his arrival.
"I am delighted," Hernandez told the club's website. "I'm very happy in Palermo. My only thoughts have been on this jersey and my only desire was to remain here.
"I am certain that with our fans' support we can achieve many joys in the future."
Hernandez earned his first cap for Uruguay in 2010 and his previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season.
