Hannover sold defender Emanuel Pogatetz to Wolfsburg on Wednesday and replaced him with Felipe Martins of Standard Liege.

Pogatetz featured in 29 Bundesliga matches for Hannover last term, but he joins Wolfsburg on a three-year contract after appearing in 57 games for Hannover since his arrival from Middlesbrough in 2010.

To replace the Austria international, Hannover moved quickly to bring in Brazilian defender Martins, who impressed the club in a Europa League match against the German side while playing for Standard Liege.

"A dream has come true," the 25-year-old Martins said of his move to Hannover. "I have always dreamt about playing in the Bundesliga and I am delighted now to be part of a big club like Hannover. I now hope to be successful with my new club."
