Dortmund, Germany – Borussia Dortmund's progression to the Champions League final came at a price as it was revealed Wednesday that Mario Gotze suffered a torn hamstring.
Dortmund held off Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Tuesday to reach the European final, but the Bundesliga club may have to compete without the 20-year-old, who is certain to miss Saturday's league match against Bayern Munich.
Gotze, who will join Bayern in the summer, now faces a race against time to be fit for the Champions League final, which is slated for May 25 at Wembley.
"It is going to be close for him for all the games we have left," said Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.
After facing Bayern at the weekend, Dortmund will take on Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga before the Champions League final on May 25.
