Genoa, Italy – Genoa acquired Italy striker Alberto Gilardino from Fiorentina on Tuesday for approximately $10.5 million.
Gilardino, 29, won the 2006 World Cup with Italy and has played 47 matches and scored 17 goals for his country. He inked a four-and-a-half year contract with Genoa.
He had played at Fiorentina since 2008, and previously played at AC Milan and Parma, among others, in a club career that started in 1999.
