Italian engineer abducted in Nigeria; Italy working for hostage's release

Italy's foreign ministry says an Italian engineer has been kidnapped in northern Nigeria.

The ministry's press office said the man was abducted on Monday in the Kwara region of the West African country.Ministry officials on Thursday declined to give details, saying only that diplomatic channels have been activated, and that Rome is in contact with Nigerian government authorities....
