Foot injury keeps TE Allen out of practice again as Colts' top draft pick hobbled by sore knee
ANDERSON, Ind. – Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen is getting a second opinion on his injured foot.
Allen has missed two straight days of practice since complaining of foot pain. The Colts did not practice Wednesday.
Coach Chuck Pagano did not provide details on the injury Friday, saying he was waiting for the doctor's report. Pagano did say that he did not expect Allen to play in Sunday's preseason opener against Buffalo.
Indianapolis took Allen with the first of two third-round picks last year. He led all NFL rookie tight ends with 45 receptions and 521 yards in 2012, and he also Broke Ken Dilger's franchise rookie record for receptions by a tight end.
Also missing Friday's practice was first-round draft pick Bjoern Werner, who Pagano said has a sore knee.
