The Calgary Flames on Thursday removed center Daymond Langkow from the long-term injury list, and he's expected to be in the lineup when they play the Blues in St. Louis on Friday.

To make room on the roster, the Flames sent forward Ales Kotalik back to Abbotsford of the AHL.

Langkow sustained a neck injury on March 21, 2010, against the Minnesota Wild and has not played since then. He missed the final 10 games of the 2009-10 season and all 78 games in 2010-11.

Kotalik, 32, has played 25 games for the Flames this season, scoring 4 goals and 6 points. He had 4 goals and 19 points in 18 games with Abbotsford before being recalled.
