Beijing, China (SportsNetwork.com) - China native Shanshan Feng fired her second straight 9-under-par 64 on Saturday to grab a 1-stroke lead entering the final round of the Reignwood LPGA Classic.
Feng, ranked ninth in the world, sits at 21-under-par 198 through 54 holes at Pine Valley Golf Club.
World No. 3 Stacy Lewis, who played in the final group alongside Feng and Jessica Korda on Saturday, shot 65 and remained in second place at 20-under 199.
Inbee Park, the world No. 1, carded a 66 and moved into solo third place at 16-under 203, while Karrie Webb (66) grabbed fourth at minus-14 and Na Yeon Choi (72) dropped to fifth at 12-under.
Korda, the overnight leader, stumbled to a 76 and slipped to sixth place at 11-under.
"Overall I think I handled the pressure pretty well, and I really had fun today and I'm pretty sure I'll have fun tomorrow playing with Stacy and Inbee together," said Feng.
Tee times were pushed back 90 minutes Saturday morning due to foggy conditions and Feng got off to a steady start when she hit the course, notching a birdie and four pars over her first five holes.
From there, Feng took off, closing her outward nine with three birdies in four holes to turn with a share of the lead at 16-under alongside Lewis, who also had four birdies on the front.
Both players gained two more shots to remain tied entering the final three holes, where Feng reeled off a hat trick of birdies to grab the lead entering the final round.
"At the beginning I was a little nervous," continued Feng. "It started a little slow. I made maybe two birdies at the first six or seven holes, and then when I got to the eighth, I made the long putt and then I started to make more birdies. And then I saw Stacy was making a lot of birdies, too, so I was like 'I need to catch up with her.'"
Lewis, meanwhile, chipped in from the deep rough for birdie at the 17th and added another birdie from five feet at the last to stay within one shot.
"It was really sandy," Lewis said of the chip in. "So it was kind of a hard shot and did exactly what we thought it was going to do. But just knowing she was hitting it in there close and the way she was putting all day Shanshan was going to make it. So I needed to do something. I was glad I did. If I don't chip in there and don't make birdie on 18 I'm three shots behind going into tomorrow. So those two shots are huge for the momentum of leading into tomorrow."
NOTES: Feng, Lewis and Park will be paired together for the final round ... Feng's lone LPGA Tour win came at the 2012 LPGA Championship. She became the first Chinese golfer -- male or female -- to win a major championship when she captured that title ... This is the first time the LPGA Tour has visited Beijing ... The field for this event consists of players from both the LPGA and China LPGA.
