LINCOLN, Neb. – Miami will play No. 24 Nebraska on Saturday night for the first time since the programs were finishing their runs of dominance.
Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong said he respects the national-championship traditions of the programs. But he says it's more important for the Cornhuskers to focus on polishing their game before Big Ten play opens against Illinois next week.
Miami and Nebraska haven't played since the 2002 Rose Bowl.
Nebraska (3-0) takes a big step up in competition. The Huskers' closest game was an embarrassingly close win over FCS McNeese State. They also have blown out Florida Atlantic and Fresno State.
Miami (2-1) is coming off easy wins over FCS Florida A&M and Arkansas State after a season-opening loss to Louisville.
