Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to long-term contracts with wide receiver Riley Cooper and center Jason Kelce.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Cooper's deal is for five years and Kelce has a seven-year pact through 2020.
Cooper had a rocky start to training camp in 2013 after video surfaced of him using a racial slur at a concert during the summer. He apologized and went through sensitivity training, then had a breakout year in his first season a starter with career highs of 47 receptions, 835 yards and eight touchdowns.
"Riley is one of the toughest and hardest-working guys in our locker room," said Eagles coach Chip Kelly. "We talk a lot about how players have to make the most of their opportunities, and he did just that last year. He used his size, strength and speed to make a lot of big plays for our team and I'm excited to watch him build upon his success."
The 26-year-old Florida product has 93 catches for 1,514 yards with 13 touchdowns in 56 games, including 25 starts, since joining the Eagles as a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Kelce started every game for the Eagles last year after returning from a knee injury that cut his 2012 season short after two games. In 2011, he was the first Eagles rookie to start all 16 games of a season since 1999.
"Jason is the epitome of the type of player we want around here, both on and off the field," said Kelly. "He's tough, extremely intelligent and is a leader by his actions and by his words. His athleticism is something that really sticks out when you watch him play. There aren't many centers that can get down the field like he does."
Kelce, a sixth-round pick in 2011, anchored an Eagles offensive line that paved the way for LeSean McCoy to lead the NFL in rushing last season with a franchise-record 1,607 yards.
