Donaldson withdraws from PGA

Rochester, NY – Jamie Donaldson withdrew from the PGA Championship on Friday with a back injury.

Donaldson recorded one birdie, five bogeys and three double bogeys during his first round Thursday en route to a 10-over 80, which placed him in a tie for 152nd place.

It is the first time Donaldson, who tied for seventh at last year's PGA Championship, has withdrawn from a major. He had tied for 32nd in both the U.S. Open and British Open this year.
