Second-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov and fourth-seeded German Tommy Haas advanced to the finals of the $1 million Citi Open tennis event on Saturday.

Dolgopolov toppled eighth-seeded American Sam Querrey in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, on the hardcourts of the H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center. He won two of three break points in the victory.

The 23-year-old dipped out of the ATP Top 20 earlier this week, falling from No.17 to No. 25. He spent 41 career weeks in the Top 20. He is in search of his first title this year after losing in the finals at Brisbane earlier this year.

Dolgopolov will face Haas, who defeated top-seeded American Mardy Fish in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, earlier Saturday.

Haas won 67 percent of his second-serve points and won two of three break points in the match, which lasted 93 minutes.

The 34-year-old Haas reached the semis after dominating compatriot Tobias Kamke 6-1, 6-2 Friday night. He stunned Wimbledon champion Roger Federer in a final in Haas' native Germany in June and has won 14 of his last 17 matches on tour.

Haas, who improved to 4-1 against Fish, has won six of his last seven matches against top-15 players. He won at Hamburg earlier this year and has 13 career titles under his belt.

The 2012 D.C. champion will collect $252,600.
