Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Dodgers put right fielder Andre Ethier on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a left oblique strain.
The move is retroactive to June 28, a day after Ethier left a game against the Giants.
He is batting .291 in 75 games this season with 10 homers, 55 RBI and a .357 on-base percentage.
Ethier joined center fielder Matt Kemp on the DL after both signed lucrative extensions with the team. Ethier inked his five-year, $85 million deal last month.
The Dodgers also reinstated second baseman Mark Ellis off the DL. Ellis had suffered a left leg injury on May 18.
