(SportsNetwork.com) - The odds are stacked against the Miami Heat in their pursuit of a playoff spot and they'll welcome the Orlando Magic to American Airlines Arena Monday night.
The Heat are two games off the eighth seed in the East with two to play and suffered a 107-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors Saturday.
Dwyane Wade posted 30 points, six rebounds and five assists for Miami, which has dropped six of its last seven contests. Hassan Whiteside supplied 16 points, 18 boards and six blocks and Goran Dragic provided 22 points and five assists.
"This is not a place I'm used to being at all," Wade said.
Miami is 1-2 on a four-game homestand and will visit Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The Magic have lost two in a row after winning three straight and are 4-12 in the last 16 games.
In Saturday's 80-79 loss to the New York Knicks, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored seven of his 13 points in the final 1:10 to help the visitors prevail. Victor Oladipo followed two free throws from Hardaway with a layup to tie the game at 77-77 with 33.3 seconds left. Out of a timeout, Langston Galloway missed a layup, but he gathered his rebound and Hardaway buried a 3-pointer with 12.6 seconds showing.
Oladipo missed a pair of 3s in the closing seconds prior to Nikola Vucevic making a layup to account for the final margin. Oladipo had 21 points to lead all scorers, and Vucevic recorded 12 points with 13 boards in the loss.
"I think we're starting to see the makings of what a playoff team can look like for the Orlando Magic," Magic coach James Borrego said. "If this group can grow this summer, get better, there's a lot of upside already just with this core group as it sits."
Orlando and New York combined for just 15 points in the second quarter, the lowest-scoring quarter in NBA history.
The Magic will visit Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Orlando is 1-2 against Miami this season and has lost 11 of the last 12 games in this series.
