London, England – Tottenham announced Friday that it has completed the signing of Romania defender Vlad Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest for a fee of approximately $13 million.
The departures of William Gallas and Steven Caulker have left Tottenham thin on numbers in the center of defense, but the club has bolstered its back line with the addition of the 23-year-old Chiriches.
Chiriches made 62 appearances for Steaua during his two-year spell at the club and has also logged 19 appearances for his country.
