Cardinals cut K Carpenter, sticking with Feely for now
Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals released recently signed kicker Dan Carpenter, as well as nine other players on Sunday to cut their total roster down to 76.
Carpenter was brought in last week to compete with Jay Feely for the starting kicker position, but didn't impress during Saturday's preseason game against the San Diego Chargers. The only kick he got to attempt -- a 26-yard try -- was blocked. Carpenter had previously been cut by the Miami Dolphins.
Feely, 37, has spent his last three seasons with the Cardinals.
Arizona also announced the releases of tackle Joe Caprioglio, wide receivers Jarett Dillard and Nick Edwards, center Deveric Gallington, defensive end Cordian Hagans, linebacker Korey Jones, defensive tackle Jonathan Mathis, quarterback Caleb Terbush and cornerback Ronnie Yell.
Linebacker Dan Giordano was placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
