David Hanson scored 21 points and Cal Poly-SLO hit a season-best 12 3-pointers, rallying in the second half to beat UC Riverside 65-60 on Thursday night.

Hanson hit 4 of 5 3-pointers for the Mustangs (8-9, 4-2 Big West), and Shawn Lewis and Jamal Johnson had 11 points apiece. Will Donahue grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds, and Chris O'Brien had four assists.

Phil Martin's 14 points led the Highlanders (7-10, 2-3). Kevin Bradshaw scored 11 points, and Javon Borum had 10.

UC Riverside had the advantage in field goal and foul shooting but was outdone from 3-point range. The Mustangs made 12 of 29 to the Highlanders' 3 of 11.

Borum's 3-pointer gave UC Riverside a 30-20 lead with 4:26 to go in the first half, and the Highlanders led 35-31 at halftime. But Matt Titchenal's 3-pointer gave Cal Poly the lead for good at 48-45 with 11:01 left.
