Brewers place Gallardo on 15-day DL

Chicago, IL – The Milwaukee Brewers placed pitcher Yovani Gallardo on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring injury.

Gallardo left in the fifth inning of Game 1 of the Brewers' doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday with tightness in the hamstring.

The right-hander had been dealing with discomfort in that hamstring since before the All-Star break.

The 27-year-old is just 8-9 with a 4.91 earned run average in 23 starts this season.
