Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves reinstated reliever David Carpenter from the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the New York Mets.

Carpenter had been sidelined since June 15 due to a strained right biceps, but proved his health by tossing a pair of scoreless one-inning rehab appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett.

The right-hander pitched in 34 games for the Braves prior to being sidelined, posting a 4-1 record with a 4.23 earned run average and striking out 35 over 27 2/3 innings.

Pitcher Juan Jaime was optioned to Gwinnett following Wednesday's matchup with the Mets to open up a roster spot.
