The Charlotte Bobcats will reportedly change their team nickname to Hornets.

The Charlotte Observer reports team owner Michael Jordan will detail a timetable for the name change at a news conference Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET. The name change could come as soon as the 2014-15 season.

The Hornets nickname became available when New Orleans vacated it and officially became the Pelicans following the conclusion of the 2012-13 regular season.

The original Hornets played in Charlotte from 1988-2002 before moving to New Orleans. The Bobcats started play in the 2004-05 season.
