Nyon, Switzerland – One day after eliminating Manchester United from the Europa League, Athletic Bilbao was drawn with Schalke for the quarterfinal round of the competition.
Sporting Lisbon conquered the other club from Manchester last round and will face Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv, with the winner facing either Bilbao or Schalke.
Atletico Madrid won the competition in 2010 and will face Hannover in another contest pitting Germany against Spain, while Valencia is the third team from La Liga to reach the quarterfinals and Los Che will face Dutch Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar.
