Benfica moved to the top of the Portuguese 0 win at Uniao Leiria.

Benfica and FC Porto entered the weekend level on 33 points, but after Porto was held to a 0-0 draw at Sporting Lisbon on Saturday, Benfica took advantage and moved two points clear of Porto with the big win.

Bruno Cesar scored in the 10th minute to put Benfica into the lead, with Oscar Cardozo doubling the advantage a few minutes into the second half.

Rodrigo then secured the win with two goals in the span of three minutes to keep Benfica unbeaten in 14 games this season.

Sporting's draw with Porto in Saturday's lone match keeps the club six points back of the defending champions, while Friday's game saw Setubal earn a 1-1 draw at home against Academica.

In Sunday's other matches Nacional handed Gil Vicente a 3-0 defeat for its first win in five games, Maritimo remains in the top five after a 2-1 triumph over Olhanense, which lost for the third straight time, Rio Ave topped Pacos Ferreira 1-0 on a penalty kick from Joao Pataco Tomas in the first half, while Marcelo Toscano's goal in the 53rd minute helped Guimaraes to a 1-0 win against Feirense.

The weekend was rounded out on Monday by Braga's 2-1 win at Beira Mar as Carlao's first goal of the campaign in the 73rd minute for Braga provided the difference.
