Livorno, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Mario Balotelli scored twice for AC Milan, but it couldn't lift the Rossoneri to three points as the club had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Livorno on Saturday.
Balotelli scored seven minutes into the contest, but his opener was canceled out by Livorno's Luca Siligardi before halftime.
Paulo Betanin then put Livorno ahead in the 58th minute, but Balotelli was able to salvage a point for his side with a powerful free kick in the final 10 minutes.
The result does little to help move Milan back up the league table and the club sits in eighth place through 15 games.
Balotelli got Milan off on the right foot inside of seven minutes when he took a pass from Kaka on the left wing and cut toward the middle before beating goalkeeper Francesco Bardi.
There were a few questions asked of Milan goalkeeper Gabriel as Siligardi was able to beat the 'keeper with a shot from the edge of the penalty area that didn't have a ton of pace.
Bardi kept Livorno level with a fine stop on Balotelli and Livorno moved into the lead in the 58th minute when confusion in the Milan defense allowed Betanin to easily slot a shot past Gabriel.
But Balotelli came to the rescue to prevent Milan from losing its sixth game this season when he thundered home a free kick seven minutes from time.
Balotelli almost stole a win in the final minutes but his shot from a tight angle struck the crossbar.
Napoli was held to a 3-3 draw by Udinese despite taking a 2-0 lead in the opening 40 minutes with a pair of goals from Goran Pandev.
