Omar Carter had 26 points, including the game-winning free throws in overtime, and grabbed 12 rebounds in Appalachian State's 80-78 victory over North Carolina-Greensboro on Wednesday night.

Donald Sims added 23 points as the Mountaineers (9-13, 5-7 Southern Conference) rallied from an eight-point deficit to snap a four-game skid.

After Carter hit two foul shots with 25 seconds left, he blocked Kyle Randall's layup with 11 seconds to go. Appalachian State's Andre Williamson missed two free throws, then Brandon Evans missed a potential tying jumper at the buzzer.

Carter also hit two free throws with 1:17 left in regulation to tie the game at 68 and force overtime.

The Spartans (4-17, 4-7) came in having won four of their last five, starting with a 75-74 win over the Mountaineers on Jan. 13.

Aloysius Henry had 26 points on 11-of-21 shooting to pace UNC Greensboro.
