Michael Showalter is on a roll.

The popular comedian has written a popular book, "Mr. Funny Pants," is in negotiations to write its follow-up, "Toads!!!!," and may be tapped to replace Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS show "Two and a Half Men."

"I have actually been offered [Sheen] the role," Showalter told FOX411 in an exclusive sit-down interview in our New York offices. "I'm weighing my options. I won't get out of bed for less than $8 million."*

Showalter's book "Mr. Funny Pants" chronicles (over 250-plus pages) the writer's inability to write a book. It was released earlier this year.

Interestingly, fellow comedian Tina Fey is releasing her first book, "Bossypants," in April.

We asked Showalter if the "30 Rock" star had perhaps borrowed his book title idea.

"We did not confer one bit in the title of our books," he said. "'Pants' is just a funny word. I'm surprised there are not more books with the word 'pants' in them."

"I look forward to reading Tina's book," Showalter added. "I'm sure she read mine the day it came out."

Showalter, 40, who previously wrote and starred in the comedy series "Stella," wrote and starred in the web series "The Michael Showalter Showalter," and wrote, directed, and starred in the film "The Baxter," clued us in to the intense negotiations surrounding "Toads!!!!," his proposed sequel to "Mr. Funny Pants."

"The publishers want one exclamation point [instead of four]. I think that's a cop out," he said. "So right now, our lawyers are talking."

*Editor's Note: The Charlie Sheen stuff? It is a joke! Ha ha! Same with "Toads!!!!." I think.
