In her latest role, Amanda Seyfried plays a woman who gets drunk at a wedding and has sex with someone she just met.

The role is in Neil LaBute’s off-Broadway play “The Way We Get By,” Seyfried’s first.

"There’s a layer of insecurity that this brings out, of course, but I am trying to throw it away," she tells the June issue of Vogue.

Insecurity is nothing new for Seyfried, who infamously got drunk (in real life) to calm her jitters before a taping of David Letterman’s talk show.

"It made it fun for me,” she said. "But then I watched it and was like ‘That is not what I want to promote about myself.'"

"I have a lot of anxiety that I've been struggling with my whole life," she added. 'So I have been working through it.”

She said her actor boyfriend Justin Long has been a big help.

“It just feels right,” she said of her relationship, but added. “It’s also really good to feel OK being alone.”

“The Way We Get By” opens on May 19.
