With temperatures continuing to rise across the East, precipitation will mostly fall in the form of rain today. A few pockets of freezing rain are possible across the Appalachians and interior Northeast where surface temperatures remain below freezing today.

Rain continues Thursday, with some snow falling across the interior Northeast as colder air begins moving into the region.

This colder air mass will spread across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Friday and over the weekend. On the southern end of this system, a few isolated strong storms are possible along the Gulf Coast.

The Northwest and Northern Rockies will see more snow and rain/snow today and Thursday as a system moves through the region.
