Strong storms and flash flooding are possible in two batches today -- the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, and the Midwest into the western Great Lakes.
Heat advisories are posted from the Southern Plains and Texas to the Southern Mississippi River Valley as heat indices exceed 100 degrees this afternoon.
