A major winter storm will move across the Midwest into the Northeast and New England this weekend bringing snow, wind rain, ice and even severe weather across parts of the deep south on Saturday.  Parts of interior New England could approach blizzard condition along with a foot or more of snow.

The rain/snow line will hover around the new York City area with areas to the south of this getting mainly rain and a wintery mix cutting back on snow totals.  People living across the Northeast will have to monitor their local weather forecasts closely. Behind this storm, the coldest air of the season will arrive Monday as an arctic blast moves in.

Meanwhile, more heavy rain is expected to push into the Pacific Northwest and northern California this weekend.
