WASHINGTON – Protesters have been removed from the House gallery and arrested after yelling about torture in the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
At least a dozen people were removed Thursday in a coordinated protest. One or two at a time stood up and began yelling. After they were taken out, a few more would stand and repeat their message.
The protest came during a vote on overhauling the U.S. patent system. The noise during the vote drowned out the protesters' message.
Capitol Police finally ended the rolling protest by clearing spectators from the gallery, which overlooks the chamber.
